Development, construction and implementation of an automatic scoring system

Author – Jan Dudek

Automatic scoring system was designed as a replacement for traditional paper target for sport shooting. Cdevice frees player from obligation to replace target after each shot. It also frees arbiter from manual assesment of hundreads of paper target on every competition. Instead of single-use square targets, very long paper ribbon was used. Ribbon is shifted after each shot to hide shot hole. Shots value is assessed by onboard Raspberry Pi 3 microcomputer equipped with camera. Acquired data are saved in online database in real time. Shots values can be read in mobile application that was created as a part of system. Device cover is made of laser cut acrylic glass, internal parts and ribbon shifting mechanism was 3D printed.
